Yamba Community Precinct 2019
Consultation has concluded
Working with precinct partners to investigate Stage 1 of parking development
Yamba Community Precinct is currently at this stage - Clarence Valley Council, TAFE NSW and NSW Health are working together to plan for the 'next stage' of parking. An extension is expected to be in by next year but it still requires some discussion.
Council has budgeted $50,000 for a detailed design for the parking behind the TAFE in this financial year and has allocated funds once this is complete, along with a TAFE contribution, to formalise at least half the carparks. The carpark will be constructed to prevent use by skaters. For answers to frequently asked questions, head over to our FAQ's tab.
The creation of a community precinct in Yamba has been slowly becoming a reality, over the last ten years. While the Community Centre and ambulance stations are well valued, there were are services needed for the growing population; our library needs to be bigger, education is vital and more space for our community to gather and prosper. Current partners all support future growth of the Precinct.
TAFE NSW: have began operating out of their Connected Learning Centre, behind the Community Centre at Treelands Drive, Yamba - this facility is amazing and must be seen to be believed - please feel free to pop in for a visit.
Future proposed redevelopments: will bring Yamba Library, Wooli St Hall, Meals on Wheels, a gallery and community space into the Precinct. For more information, check out the concept designs in YCP Documents tab. The concept gives an idea of the cost to build the dream. Unfortunately, dreams cost money and finding this money is the next step. Watch the news to see how this develops.
