Winners announced

The winners of the Youth Art Competition for Treelands Drive Community Hub (Yamba Community Precinct) have been announced.

Winner: Coastal Feathered Friends, Aaliyah Roach, 15, Grafton

Second: Gentle Waves, Allara MacPhail, 13, Yamba

Tied for Third: Women Healing, Janarla Mercy, 14, South Grafton

Tied for Third: Pippi Corner, Willow Allen, 11, Yamba


The winning image of a Coastal Emu by Aaliyah Roach will be used in the design of the library youth space of Treelands Drive Community Hub.

Aaliyah’s story behind her winning entry:

“As a family driving to Yamba we are sometimes lucky enough to see the local emus roaming around. My little sister gets so excited which I love. I feel like we are lucky to live somewhere so amazing and that's what inspired my drawing.” Aaliyah Roach

The competition was judged by students at Maclean High School and Yamba Skate Park.

The Treelands Drive Community Hub (Yamba Community Precinct), is jointly funded by the Australian and NSW Governments through the Bushfire Local Economic Recovery Fund, in association with Clarence Valley Council.
