Council is preparing a plan of management for its holiday parks at Iluka, Yamba, Minnie Water and Wooli.

A plan of management (PoM) provides strategic planning and governance for the management and use of land classified 'community' which is managed by Council. A PoM sets out objectives and performance targets for community land and provide for active land management and use, including the issuing of tenures over the land.

Council has engaged consultants ‘sala4D’ to undertake community consultation and to prepare the draft PoM on Council’s behalf. Council and sala4D undertook community 'drop-in' consultation sessions at each of the holiday parks in August 2024.

Sala4D are preparing the draft PoM considering the outcomes of these consultation sessions, regarding the use of the holiday parks, management objectives and the means of achieving those objectives.

The draft PoM will be reported to Council in early to mid 2025 for approval to refer the draft PoM to the Minister for Lands and Property (Crown Lands being the land owner) for approval to place the draft PoM on public exhibition.

Stakeholders will be notified when the draft PoM is placed on exhibition. Submissions regarding the draft PoM will be received for a period of at least 42 days after the exhibition period opens.
