We’re excited to share plans for a new footpath along the northern side of Gumnut Road and the Halyard in Yamba. This 1.8–2.0-metre-wide concrete path will extend from the current endpoint near Acacia Court to Shores Drive and is fully funded by the State Government’s Get NSW Active Program, with one million dollars allocated to the project. The project also includes a pathway on the east side of The Link and the southern side of The Mainbrace, east of The Link.
Designed to improve safety and accessibility for all pedestrians, this project was prioritised in the Clarence Valley Active Transport Strategy 2024–2044, which was developed through extensive community consultation and a thorough review of the region’s walking and bike-riding networks.
Community consultation is now closed. Thank you for all your feedback. Construction in scheduled to commence in February 2025.
