FAQs
Why 2036?
The Cultural Plan will have a 10 year lifespan from 2026 - 2036. This is designed to align with the timing of the Community Strategic Plan. Council plans are often set for a 10-year timeframe to allow for a comprehensive view of future needs and long-term strategic planning, including informed decisions regarding major infrastructure projects, community development initiatives, and financial sustainability, considering factors like population growth, economic trends, and environmental impacts over a significant period.
While a 10-year plan provides a long-term vision, it will be regularly reviewed and adjusted based on changing circumstances.
How will this plan be used?
The Cultural Plan 2026 will define key priority areas where Council can play a dynamic and supportive role in strengthening the provision of existing services, programs and facilities so that the creative community can thrive.
The Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework in NSW requires all councils to adopt a suite of strategic plans. These long-term plans provide transparency and ensure that community needs and priorities are addressed through planning processes.
Clarence Valley Community Strategic Plan 2032 is a document that has been developed following in-depth community engagement to understand the community’s collective vision, aspirations, and priorities for the Clarence Valley. The Community Strategic Plan guides Council’s activities over the next ten years as we work toward achieving a shared vision.
The Cultural Plan sits within this suite of plans and aligns with the goals outlined in the Community Strategic Plan. Actions in the plan are reflected in the Annual Operational and Four Year Delivery Plan
Measurable objectives will be developed to support key priority areas. An implementation plan including strategies, partnerships, activities and resources will be created to act as a roadmap for achieving our shared vision.
